New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging . One where our 2D thoughts are turned into 3D realities and where you have full control of your creative experiments, with a little help from an online expert community that loves to share what we do. Many of the direct drive kits, especially the ones that reuse the existing giant NEMA-17 stepper, are not very good and have tradeoffs due to excessive mass on the toolhead, imbalanced mass, interference with frame reducing print volume, etc.Whether you're looking for guides on calibration, advice on modding, or simply want to share your latest 3D prints on the Ender 3, this subreddit is your go-to hub for support and inspiration. Additionally, the Ender 3S1 features a silent motherboard, significantly reducing noise levels during operation.

The modern way to do direct drive is with a "pancake" stepper far smaller and lighter, and gearing between 3:1 and 6:1 reduction to get the needed torque - look at the Orbiter, Sherpa Mini, etc.

There’s still a (very short) length of Bowden tube joining the two, but on the bright side it all comes pre-assembled, so this looked like a very simple drop-in replacement.

It doesn’t need any firmware updates or other tweaking, apart from making sure the bed’s levelled after you’re done screwing things back together.Comes with a 42-40 stepper motor, this direct extruder kit is made of aluminum alloy and plastic, durable, and wear-resistant.
